Before RAP knew its name, there was THE LAST POETS. The powerful, prophetic, and inspirational poetry of Abiodun Oyewole, David Nelson and Gylan Kain called a nation to reflect on racism, poverty and other societal concerns. Their legendary influence as “The Godfathers of Hip Hop” is still felt today.

On 10/13 (6-8pm), The Delaware Art Museum presents THE LAST POETS in concert featuring students of THE LYRIC LAB. Born of a collaboration between 302 GUNS DOWN and the THE LAST POETS, The Lyric Lab will be used to teach children affected by gun violence how to create and perform music related to their personal struggles. This collaboration aims to demonstrate the power of art to the greater Wilmington community. It passes the cultural baton to our youth to reduce violence in our city.

The performance will contain explicit content. All ticket purchases are final. No refunds or exchanges will be issued.
