From Bag-Bird to Blue-Beard: W. Heath Robinson and the Trans-Atlantic Gift Book Craze, 1902-1921

Collector Eric Holzenberg will explore W. Heath Robinson’s significant contribution to the gift book phenomenon in works he illustrated and wrote, including The Adventures of Uncle Lubin (1902) and Perrault’s Old-Time Stories (1921). He will also discuss Robinson’s contribution to luxury color plate books produced for British and American markets.
