Join Sophie Lynford, Annette Woolard-Provine Curator of the Bancroft Collection, for a gallery talk on Jane Morris’s relationship with the Pre-Raphaelites. Jane was the wife of Arts & Crafts pioneer, William Morris, and a frequent model to Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who memorialized her face in countless artworks. But Jane was much more than a muse; she was also an artist in her own right and a skilled embroiderer. This talk will pay particularly close attention to Rossetti’s painting, Water Willow, in DelArt’s collection, and Evelyn De Morgan’s The Hourglass, on loan from the De Morgan Foundation.
